Shop Hard in Stony Plain: A New Incentive to Support Local Businesses

A new initiative known as the ‘Shop Hard in Stony Plain Campaign’ is being launched by the Town of Stony Plain. The campaign intends to incentivize area residents to support Stony Plain businesses and keep supporting local top of mind by offering prizes, increasing online exposure, highlight shopping opportunities, and offering a way for businesses to reconnect with customers.

Over the next three months, residents and visitors can enter to win prize packages from the Town when shopping at participating businesses and online through the Town’s social media channels. No purchase is necessary to enter.

Economic Development Officer Shawn McCauley says, “It is one thing to tell people to shop local, but if we want to encourage that behaviour, we have to give shoppers an incentive to buy. That’s exactly what the campaign intends to accomplish – to give residents that reason to think and support local.”

“Stony Plain’s businesses play an essential role in making Stony Plain the town we all know and love, and right now, they’re working hard to recover from the pandemic,” says Mayor William Choy. “To help, we need to set the intention as a community to support local whenever possible. I encourage everyone to get out, have some fun, and to Shop Hard in Stony Plain!”

Participation in the campaign is easy. Just head out and shop at local Stony Plain businesses and follow the Town of Stony Plain on social media! To learn more, please click here.
